"With a wealth of research to fall back on, Maz challenges us all to reach beyond our bounds and limited mindsets, and to take a good hard look at the life we’re living in comparison to the life we’re wanting. Using her own life as a guide, and delivered with true Maz Compton wit and hilarity, her raw honesty is relatable, and makes living our best life seem doable.
I applaud her bravery and willingness to stick her head above the socially acceptable parapet and call BS on what we have made our social norms, and I feel incredibly privileged to follow along the trail she is blazing.
This course isn’t just for people with issues around alcohol. It is for anyone at all who is ready to take life by the proverbial and truly live."
This course has been designed from the recently released book, The Social Rebellion; True Freedom Begins with a Cheeky Month Alcohol Free. Included in the book is a 31-day blue print for how to live alcohol-free, written by someone who has done it successfully.
BY DEFINITION, A REBEL IS SOMEONE WHO REVOLTS AGAINST THE ESTABLISHMENT. IN OUR MODERN-DAY, SOCIAL DRINKING HAS BECOME THE NORM; THE ESTABLISHMENT. WE RARELY QUESTION WHY OUR SOCIAL ENGAGEMENTS ARE FUELLED BY ALCOHOL OR HOW OUR MOMENTS OF TRUE JOY OR DESPAIR ARE MOST OFTEN DEALT WITH BY DRINKING. AS A SOCIETY, WE HAVE LOST THE ABILITY TO FIND ANOTHER WAY TO CELEBRATE OR COMMISERATE, BE IT ALONE, AT HOME OR OUT WITH FRIENDS.
The Social Rebellion exists to redefine this norm. Allowing each person, the ability to take some time away from alcohol to redefine its role in one’s life. Arming people with the necessary techniques and tools required for a guided lesson in self-assessment and habit formation, and enabling each person to make an empowered choice about the role of alcohol in their lives, rather than going along with the crowd.
Maz Compton is the voice of her generation and a leading authority in her field, with over a decade of television and radio experience. She is equal parts hilarious and heart, weird and wise.
What started out as a passion for music and entertaining gloriously landed her a dream job as a VJ with MTV. Maz was the original host of its flagship show Total Request Live (TRL) and travelled the globe attending music festivals, she's interviewed just about every celebrity, hosted red carpet, VMA Award shows and her own online Interview series, Chattterbox.
Maz Compton hasn't had a drink in like, ages! But she used to drink, a bit too much and a bit too often. Navigating her life from a place where alcohol was at everything, to alcohol-free has been a rewarding and empowering journey and her desire is for anyone who so wishes, to find the freedom she now lives in daily.
Maz's hope is for anyone who feels trapped in a cycle of societal norm, as she was, has the courage to redefine their relationship with alcohol and fine true freedom, as she done.
Maz also own two F45 studios in Sydney and has a small obsession with sneakers.
